We got Dakota from a rescue. She and six brothers and sisters were to be put down. All were saved and we chose Dakota.
Ike came to us as a foster puppy. He was suppose to be put down on a Wednesday, I picked him up on Tuesday, (he was only eight months old at the time), fell in love with him and he became part of our family.
He now protects the family and the horses.
Introducing our first equine rescue. Oreo is a registered paint mare who came to us in foal to ??? She and her unborn foal were to be sent to the kill barn on March 5. All the horses have been saved! Oreo is here with us, safe, happy and forever home. She is 4years old, and foaled un-eventfully here at Ivelolharele. She is a sweet sweet horse and a welcomed addition to our herd.
Pictured below is her foal, Kristy.
*UPDATE* In order for us to help all the horses we can help, rescue horses are held and evaluated and if it is felt they are good candidates for adoption, we offer them to new approved homes. Oreo fit the bill and has went to her new adoptive home with Courtney!! Congratulations Courtney and Oreo.
Simba is our newest addition. Someone dropped her off here, never said anything, and there she was. Loves kids, and all the animals, Simba is very friendly and a welcome addition to our farm family. She is now a barn/house kitty....she actually lets us know when she need to go out!
Buster, is a 5 yr old Hennie (pony/donkey cross). Buster was running away from home and was found numerous times by the sheriff's deparment on the road. We rescued Buster and he is doing great! He is somewhat shy with new people, he loves it when we open his stall door and let him wander around the barn...Buster has come a long way since arriving at our facility.
