Jody's niece, Kristin, passed away 17 years ago due to congential heart condition. Kristin loved horses, and always wanted a pony. Unfortunately, this little girl's life was cut short, and was never able to have her own pony. In memory of Kristin, Jody and Bruce, take care of special need horses, horses that need extra care, extra loving, and a place to call forever home, until the day they cross the rainbow bridge. On August 5, 2007, the first little filly was born at Ivelolharele. She had only one white marking on her forehead, and if you looked closely, its shape is a half a heart. A heart that is not formed correctly, just like Kristin's. At that time, it became clear to Jody and Bruce on what to name this little filly......"Kristin Mae's Dream", aka Kristy. Kristin's favorite color was purple, and Kristy wears a purple halter in memory of Kristin.
