Ivelolharele Retirement Sanctuary, Inc.

In order to keep the sanctuary alive, we depend upon our volunteers!

We are looking for committed people to help us continue our mission. Prior equine experience is preferred, but not required. New volunteers will be partnered up with an experienced volunteer or staff member in order to learn the ropes. Minors aged 13 and under must be supervised by a parent; ages 14-17 must be supervised by their experienced volunteer or staff mentor. Volunteers may be asked to bathe and groom horses, bale hay, muck stalls, spray horses with fly repellent, help feed horses, clean the barn, make repairs on fences and buildings, clean and fill water buckets, and help with events. If you are able to do any of this (or anything else that may help us!) and are interested in lending a hand, we need you! If you do not know how to do something, we can teach you! Volunteers can work as little or as many hours as they please and can come at any time so long as it does not interfere with our schedule. However, we ask that volunteers spend at least one hour a month at Ivelolharele. Many different types of volunteers are needed and there can never be too many! This is an excellent way to spend time with attention-loving animals, meet new friends, help your community, and learn something new. Don't be shy; we don't bite too hard!
